Honestly, I had to sit and think on how I would write this review. There are not many books that have left me stumped, in a stupor, with no words running through my brain. I could start with saying how truly amazing an author has to be to write such a masterpiece of literature. Not many "new" age authors have captured my interest like that of Chaucer, Spencer, The Unknown Authors of Beowulf, Shakespeare and so forth. I absolutely loved listening to this audiobook. The narrator was amazing and it made for such a magical listening experience. The only reason I gave 4⭐️ and not 5 was because I did feel it dragged on a bit during the Odysseus section. I understand that Circe was desperate for info about what was happening in the world, but it seemed more like a review of every Greek myth because it just went on too long. Overall though, a fantastic book! It was such a unique perspective on being a god.

Another case of the hype detracting from a good, but not amazing book.
I enjoyed this book, listened mainly during my daily commute but it wasn't quite as outstanding as I had been led to believe. I like historical fiction but maybe not quite retellings of myth. ...more

An enjoyable tale of a Greek goddess and her relationship with other big players of Greek mythology. Odysseus, Hermès, Athena, Daedalus to name a few. We watch Circe grow from gullible, bullied, and weak to a strong powerful autonomous witch/goddess .4/5
