Sullivan’s Island: There were several books set in South Carolina that caught my attention but I ended up choosing Sullivan’s Island because I’ve actually been to the island and thought it would be fun to read a book set in a place I was familiar with. Sullivan’s Island is an island off Charleston (connected by bridges) that has a beach/beach access. Our protagonist, Susan, is going through a divorce and raising a strong willed pre-teen daughter.
