With the western world in the midst of BLM at this time, it was a coincidence that I had planned to read New Boy.
I have never read Othello, but have read a few of Shakespeare's other plays and love his sonnets.
This book is a modern day (1970s Washington DC) retelling of Othello.

I loved this book it is "electric" from the first moment and keeps up the pace throughout. A novel and modern retelling of Othello that should be read by those studying the play. It gives the reader a pure view of jealousy, love and rage. Set over the period of just one day it manages to capture so much incident the characterisation is fabulous.
