A simply told, light read, that is enjoyable, but not great. Dewey Readmore Books started his career as Library Cat, when he was deposited in the book drop box on one of the coldest days in January, and subsequently adopted by the head librarian. I am not sure I understand the wide popularity of this memoir. It’s less about the cat, than it is about the librarian who adopted him.

Well I finally finished this book. I was not overly impressed with this book. I thought I would be reading more about Dewey than life in Spencer Iowa.

I did enjoy the beginning and how Dewey came to live in the library. The rest with her personal life was not all that interesting.

Learning about how Dewey touched people was interesting but that was all I enjoyed.

This book is really only half about the cat...it's intriguing to experience life in northwest Iowa over a period of time. ...more

I really enjoyed this non-fiction book about the cat, Dewey, who wss deposited one night into the library's book drop on a cold winter night. This is the story of Dewey's life in the library and his impact on the librarian's life (Vicky) and that of the town of Spencer, Iowa.

What a wonderful story! I "read" this book on audiobook format, and I spent part of the time remembering our own cat, Bubba, who died two years ago. Thanks, Vicki Myron, for nice memories as well as a wonderful look into the

The book was a sweet story of a librarian and a cat, I had kind of a hard time reading this because the cat reminded me of my cat who I put to sleep last summer. Even the way this cat died is how my cat acted right before he died. The fact that Dewey even looks like Morgan made it a hard novel to read. But all in all it was a sweet story and brought up many memories of my cat Morgan..RIP.

This was just so so - I was a little dissapointed in that I thought the author interjected too much of her personal story which I was really not interested in. She did do a really nice job of describing Dewey and I also enjoyed the information she shared on the community. I would have liked to have known Dewey - he really does seem to have been a remarkable cat.

Warm and wonderful book ... very good insights that I found inspiring. And what a wonderful, wonderful cat! Cudos to all those women at the library who saved him and loved him!
