The Sun is Also Star was such a good read. It dealt with so many subjects: Racism, Romance, Skepticism, Angst, and The Universe just to name a few. You would not expect reading a book about two young adults lives on one particular day would have such an impact, but it did for me. Wow...This was a wonderful book set during one day in NYC. Natasha,17, has one day left in America, before being deported back to Jamaica. She plans on spending the day looking for a way to stay. Her path crosses with Daniel, also 17, a second generation Korean boy. Daniel’s plan for the day is to attend his Yale interview for entrance in the fall. I flew through this book. Every time I picked it up I couldn't put it down. I was a little concerned when I learned that the whole story takes place in one day. I was worried that it would feel rushed, but I was pleasantly surprised with the pacing. It was fast enough to keep you flipping the pages to see what would come next but slow enough for you to sink in and enjoy the moment.
