Oof, though it had its moments, this one turned out to be a huge letdown for me. I picked it up immediately after finishing Helter Skelter, hoping it would take the utterly bizarro Manson murders and spin from it some believable character driven rational and drama. In the end, I was disappointed by the tacked-on anticlimactic murder. This story would have worked better for me if it had either leaned hard into the actual Manson cult psychology, complete with its racist eschatology and that goes c ...more

Non so se sia "colpa" della narrazione di Cady McClain che mi ha accompagnato per lunghe ore in macchina o della Cline, ma mi sento insoddisfatta e un po' illusa, mi aspettavo forse qualcosa di profondamente diverso.

Writing that was painful to read and an MC and storyline I could not come to care for made this an easy DNF. Also, was I the only 14 year old girl not going around "rubbing" myself on everything? I keep encountering such things in novels and I don't get it. ...more
