Rarely have I come across a book so pretentiously written. It was clearly Wilde's writing, but on steroids. The style and the commentary on society were reflective of that which I saw in my favorite of his, The Importance of Being Earnest. But the entire book was written in quips. The quipiness was suffocating, allowing for barely anything but the quips themselves. Yes, there was some characterization and plot but they were drowning, drowning.
