The denouement is absolutely amazing; I just wish that the rest of the novel was as good. After making several attempts over the years, I finally made it through a Dostoevsky (although I did skim The Brothers Karamazov). Unfortunately, this is supposed to be his most accessible and I still wasn't too thrilled with it. Tension? Check. Suspense? Check.
