Quirky and laugh-out-loud clever blended with implicit social commentary. My Delta seat-mate kept staring at me for my on-flight chuckles. I'd love to meet Bernadette and Bee.

I waffled between 3 and 4 stars. What pushed it over the edge was that I was willing to stay up until 4 am reading and finished it pretty quickly after starting. I only identified with little slivers of the characters. But it was a fun ride. The characters are quirky and spoiled. The plot fun and engaging. It's not a particularly funny book, I didn't laugh out loud. But I smirked plenty of times. Happy reading!

My Reading Bingo choice for a Funny Book. It was a lot of fun to read. Gnats, what a word! I related to Bernadette a bit. : )
I really enjoyed this book...it kept my interest with fun quirky characters and an interesting writing format.

I really enjoyed reading this book . It was a bit over the top, but that was OK for me. I think it made a lot of interesting satirical points about the culture of a certain type of elite. Bernadette was not exactly a likeable character, but she seemed to be a caricature made up of the exaggerated traits of different people that I do know. The same can be said of Elgie and the parents at Bee's school. I really liked the format of the book and think that it contributed to how well it kept my atten
