This will always be one of my favorite stories of my childhood. It just brings back so many loving memories.

I originally tried to read this book as a little girl. Unfortunately, even as a kid, I never had much use for over-done, flowery, descriptive writing. It's a great book. It's well written and I love Anne and Marilla and Matthew and Diana but good grief it's taking me forever to get through it. I can't stand to read but a few pages at a time before I have to put it down and do something else. I read all the "Anne" books as a young teenager; they were my favorites, only "Gone With the Wind" could compare! Have marked the others "to read" as I want to go back and re-read the whole series. ...more

Listened to the audio production this go around, for a new experience. I am not as big of a fan of the audio but the story still remains a beloved classic in my eyes.
