I loved this book. I originally gave it 4 stars but after thinking about it I realized that it deserved 5 stars. This is the story of Simon who is gay but has not come out yet, not because he is afraid but because he does not want it to become a big deal. He begins an on-line relationship with a guy named Blue who goes to his school. Blue is not his real name and Simon and Blue have no idea who each other are. Overall I found this book quite boring. I was never entertained and it made reading a chore. The book did not read authentic at all, not for the situation(s) or for the characters. The voice of the teenage boy did not come across as authentic to me, although he was quite annoying and meant to be funny when he was not...so maybe some teenage boys I suppose. But no, I did not really buy it. The author made use of pop culture far too often and it simply dates the book in the end, it adds nothing to
