Wow. Just wow. How often does a girl get to tell her story and have people actually listen!
Malala is both an exceptional young woman and yet could be anyone's daughter. She was a child while the events of this book were going on. It sickens me (and should sicken all of us) that any child, anywhere, should have to endanger her life for speaking her mind and wanting an education.
I respect her and wanted to hug her at the same time.

Malala is an inspiration. Her story should be better known than it is. Education truly is the key to everything.

I've planned to read this several times, but finally I've actually got around to it! And I'm glad I have. It paints a fascinating picture of life in the Swat Valley, both before and after the arrival of the Taliban. But most of all it tells the story of two extremely brave people - Malala herself and her father - and how they work to make a difference.

Before tarring all Muslims with the ISIS brush, perhaps certain outspoken individuals should read this and discover that the beliefs of the Islami

I think just about everyone has heard of the courageous Malala Yousafzai of Pakistan: she's the girl who spoke in favor of women's right to education and was shot by terrorists for it. This was an interesting story and I'm really glad I listened to it. I learned some things, including just the briefest bit of Pakistani history and Muslim culture. And this book made me grateful for my education and my freedom, two things that I often take for granted.
