I read Hail Mary right before this book and when I finished, I quickly found The Martian as I was hungry for more Andy Weir. I read the Andy Weir books in a fairly strange order: Artemis first, then Hail Mary and finally, The Martian. I didn't particularly care for Artemis, so I assumed I wouldn't like his other books, but friends kept telling me to read Hail Mary, and I am so glad I did. It became the best book I read last year.
