A Feb 2019 re-read confirms the review below.
Good old Tommy and Tuppence, up to their old undercover tricks to help prevent fifth-columnists sabotaging the British efforts in repealing an expected German invasion after Dunkirk. Well-written adventure mystery, with some interesting and humane thoughts about the nature of war and the demands it makes on protagonists on both sides. What a good writer Christie was!

Tommy and Tuppence are middle-aged now, retired, but pulled back in by WWII. They aren't my favorites, but I enjoyed this adventure.
Updated from three stars to two with a reread five years later. While I enjoy the characters of T & T, I found the plot convoluted with spies popping up everywhere. Christie was so much better at murders. ...more
