Flavia is nearly 12, practically grown up, she says. And circumstances propel her into the grown-up world in this story faster than she could have imagined, or wished.
All the usual charming characters and several more, some family and some not, converge on the family home for a sad event that results in revealing much about Flavia's late mother and the circumstances of her death.
