A good story.
Celia Ravenscroft and Desmond Burton-Cox want to marry. Desmond’s mother by adoption, Mrs Burton-Cox am odious woman opposes the marriage. At a literary luncheon she approaches Ariadne Oliver, who is Celia’s godmother to help her scupper the happy couples marriage plans. Celia’s parents died years ago in what the police determined to be a suicide pact. This is one of the few Agatha Christie's that I didn't enjoy. There were a few inconsistencies and unresolved items. Also the conversations did not seem to flow naturally and I kept losing track of who was speaking.

While I liked the interplay between Poirot and Ariadne Oliver, with a short appearance of Mr. Goby, much of the plot was a rehash of earlier books. This book could be viewed as a tribute to memory as Christie herself was old.
