I really enjoyed this fun novel which features Hercule Poirot and Ariadne Oliver, a feisty and scatterbrained mystery writer. Oliver is one of my favorite characters because she's fun and a little irascible and so very charming. Was originally assigned this book in grade 5 for a book report; it was my first introduction to Agatha Christie. This was probably not the best place to start with her. It took me years to pick up another one of her novels. Unfortunately this re-read did not improve my impression. I still did not like this mystery.

Hugh Fraser as Ariadne Oliver is my absolute favorite.
