Bobby Jones, fourth son of the local vicar, is out for a game of golf with the doctor. Bobby Jones and Lady Frances "Frankie" Derwent reminded me of Tommy and Tuppence, Christie's other "bright young things". Their relationship and their adventures are so similar to Tommy and Tuppence's that after a while I was beginning to think of Bobby and Frankie as Tommy and Tuppence. Just like Tommy and Tuppence's stories, Bobby and Frankie's adventure is fun to read but full of unbelievable coincidences! I really enjoyed this book, it was a what I imagined a classic golden age crime book to be like.
I loved Christie's style and the speech and humour was brilliant and unexpected. I found myself regularly chuckling as I imagined the scene and I liked how the ending was all neatly summarised and tied up firm. I am looking forward to reading more of Agatha Christie's work. ...more
