I really enjoyed this Poirot. It was so much better than the TV movie I saw not long ago. Shelia Webb a typist is sent out to work at someone’s house and walks into a room to find a body. She runs screaming into the street and bumps into Colin Lamb a friend of Poirot’s and who becomes involved in the case.
The story unfolds with Inspector Hardcastle investigating the neighbors and identification of a mysterious body. He also tries to solve the mystery of the clocks surrounding the body. Another ...more

An interesting murder, as in the blurb below, but a disjointed story with Poirot being consulted by the 'hero' and solving the crime, late on, from his armchair, having been reading lots of detective writers, real and imagined, so Agatha Christie can amuse herself by commenting on them. Would have been a better story without Poirot.

Unnecessarily convoluted, with an implausible romance thrown in for good measure.

I really enjoyed listening to this with its many amusing and interesting vignettes, excellent characters, and Poirot bragging he can solve the mystery without leaving home. However the ending was unrealistic and disappointing with way too many coincidences.
