A pretty good later Poirot, from 1959, starting as an adventure story of princes and revolutions in Arabia, then a murder mystery in an English girls' school- only later is Poirot called in to solve the murders and the mystery.

"Cat among the Pigeons" Christie's 64th and was published in 1959. The book distinctly showcases the fact that Agatha Christie was running out of ideas by then. Espionge was certainly not her area of expertise. Agatha Christie has tried her hand in espionge mysteries once in a while but I had been disillusioned every time.There is nothing spectacular about the book except for the title which is inspired by an english idiom.

Reminded me of Josephine Tey's Miss Pym Disposes. Plus, a mystery that kept me wondering and guessing till the end!

Listened to this one on Audible, excellently narrated by Hugh Fraser. I think one of the tests of a good narrator is that you actually forget who it is because you get so absorbed in the story.
