Shelves: mystery-golden-age

What do an exclusive girl's school, an Arab coup d'état and a handsome gardener have to do with each other? Hercule Poirot will have to sort it out, but first there are several murders in that posh school and everyone begins to look at the others with suspicion.

I really like this story, which reminds me of Miss Pym Disposes, another mystery set in a girl's school. I like that this school is pretty good and most of the girl's are happy - no horror stories here, just young girl's obsessed with ten ...more

A favorite! Poirot doesn’t appear until two-thirds of the way through the book, but I have to say, I didn’t miss him. Great characters and a great plot. I wish there were more books featuring Julia Upton, a thoroughly engaging character.
