This is an old favourite collection that (mostly) stood up very well. 
I loved the conceit of Poirot, at the end of his career, and at a point where he only takes cases that interest him, trying to find cases to emulate his demi-god hero namesake. On the whole, this was done in a very nicely creative way. The metaphors made sense (e.g. the modern Lernaean Hydra being the many-headed spread of gossip), and several made me smile (e.g. the Pekingese Nemean Lion).

A journey into the world of Hercule Poirot was bound to be joyful and reinvigorating. Hercule Poirot , the Belgian detective despite of his vanity and arrogance is my favourite literary character and perusal of an anthology purely based on him was sure to be a delightful experience.
However , I did'nt expect it to be this remarkable. This collection of short stories made me fall in love with Agatha Christie all over again. This book is an exceptional piece of Creativity!
