This book is somewhat different in its structure when compared to the other Poirot books I have read. The murder in this story has happened long back and Poirot is asked to solve the mystery. He interviews all the people connected with the crime before finding the real perpetrator. Poirot fans will not be disappointed if they choose to read this.

Although I guessed at whole thing, it was clever. I’m always assumed when AC tricks me. So it was exciting expecting to be corrected the whole time. But then, it’s just fun being right every once in a while. On top of that AC’s writing is always so cool and clean.

This was one of Dame Agatha’s best. Great characterization, wonderful if troubling story, and Hercule at his most accomplished. No sign of Miss Lemon in the books.
