What Members Thought
Somehow I had missed out on ever reading this Hercule Poirot story. This is, in effect, a cold-case mystery. A young woman, Carla Lemarchant, who is about to marry comes to Poirot to ask him to investigate the long-ago murder of her father, painter Amyas Crale, for which her mother, Caroline Crale, was convicted. Although it is sixteen years later and her mother is dead, all the others involved are still living. Poirot agrees to investigate, inte

Even though the book is built around five people telling the same story over and over again, Christie's gift for bestowing each character with a unique voice ensures the story never becomes tedious.
