Thoroughly enjoyed, review to follow. 4.5 stars rounded down, sorry

An excellent Poirot novel, with a twist. A letter received 2 months late sends Poirot to visit a women that has unfortunately died of a liver complaint or did she ?
Poirot leans of a mysterious accident that befell Miss Arundell shortly before her death, and like a dog with a bone he now refuses to let go of "the case" despite not working for a "living" client.
Multiple twists and turns narrated by the ever faithful Hastings, ensue

4.5 STARS | Although critics would say this was not one of Christie's best works, who cares? I enjoyed it enormously. Maybe it was Bob the dog and the descriptions of his ball-playing on the stairs, or the touching dedication to her own fox-terrier Peter, or the explanation by Poirot of why all dogs dislike the postman. That one made me smile out loud, if that's possible. I'm a dog lover and I loved it.

Wonderful book! I loved the structure of this story; it was different to others. The first part of the story focussed on establishing whether a murder had in fact taken place.

I loved following Poirot's progress in soliciting information from various people and then putting it all together.

This novel contained one of my favourite ever, Mrs Peabody. Wow, was this one impressive lady! Mrs Peabody's personality and shrewd intelligence jumped off the pages, she was such a full, well developed chara

Loved this book. Really great concept, and interesting MO of the murder and the previous attempted murder. Great characters and loved that little Bob got a happily ever after too.
