Christie in the 1930s was delivering, novel after novel, some of the absolutely most ingenious and tightly plotted detective fiction ever written. This one is not, however, a masterpiece on that level - I guessed it, which I never do, and the central clue is very obvious. But there is so much else to enjoy.
