I've waited virtually 24 hours to write a review for this book as it was quite difficult. Yes it was a slightly different perspective/style to most of the other Poirot's I've read, but it was still recognisably a Christie and a Poirot.

Over the top plot, lots of repetition, but one of those really creepy Christie murders -- she got the atmosphere down.

Lots of prejudices on the part of the narrator. It read very classist. That aspect aside, Nurse Leatheren made an interesting foil to Poirot. Suffered from a bad case of Hastings-itis, but other than that, interesting! I would like a series of detectives and nurses.

I enjoyed this book as it was different from a standard Poirot formula. It took quite a while for the murder to take place and even longer for Poirot to arrive. The narrator was Amy, a straight-talking intelligent nurse. Her perspective on the mystery was really great. Poirot's final monologue when he explained the whole crime was an excellent example of the big reveal. Lots of peaks, troughs and it was incredibly entertaining.
