One of the exceptional Campion whodunnits. Full of mystery and brilliantly imaginative plotting. Only Albert Campion could stay alive, defy the enemy and solve the problem. Brilliant.

Not the only time we will meet the feisty Amanda Fitton. Great.

This is probably my favorite of the Albert Campion books, and I don't think I'm alone in that opinion. Campion's manners are not quite as odd as in the early books, and the wonderful secondary characters actually top him in delicious lunacy. It is also a strong episode of the BBC TV series. ...more
