Oh so very close to 5 stars. If only we had halves !?!?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, the settings , the characters and of course Poirot's masterful investigation into the murder and robbery. I must admit towards the end I thought I had worked out who did it, but didn't know why. Well I was completely wrong ha ha. Oh well. It just goes to show how enjoyable these books are.

As I said at the start it is certainly a 4.5 star read and one of the most enjoyable Poirot novels so far, and it takes me

An enjoyable reread. The exotic Blue Train to Cannes. A spoilt millionaires daughter Ruth Kettering with her jewels is murdered. The letter K plays a role in the clues. Kettering, Katherine, Knighton is it one of them. Ruth’s aristocratic bounder husband Derek is broke and has a greedy demanding mistress in Mirelle the dancer. Ruth’s wealthy father employs the world’s greatest detective Hercule Poirot to solve the murder.

Great characterizations of all the cameo characters. Lady Tamplin and her

This is an early Poirot (1928), and Christie has not yet hit her stride. But as many have said before, a so-so Christie is better than the vast majority of other mysteries. Characters, I thought, were well-developed and a reminder not to be fooled by first impressions. Even though about halfway through, I had an inkling who the villain was, I ultimately enjoyed it and didn't guess the intricacies of the plot or how the crime was carried out. But then that's what Poirot is for. What's especially ...more

An heiress is found murdered on the blue train. Luckily, Hercule Poirot is there to solve the mystery. Not one of the very best, but very enjoyable all the same.

One of the strongest of Agatha Christie's mysteries. I've read it several times over the years, and it is not the mystery that attracts me, but Miss Grey -- although the mystery is so strong, that I never see it coming!

I choose to read this tonight as I wanted something that would engage my head and not my heart. However, the characters seemed much more poignant than usual. Previous times I've read this, Miss Grey was my main source of interest. This time around, it was Lennox who tugged at my

I have read this one a few times before and always enjoy it.

American heiress Ruth Kettering is found strangled to death on the Blue Train heading towards the French Riviera, and her famous ruby 'the heart of fire' is missing.

I love how all the characters travelling on the train all link to one another and how Poirot conveniently pops up and inserts himself into the characters lives to help solve the crime. This book is full of Poirots strange little methods including a very enjoyable murder re-e
