Well what can I say, I have just added this to my "favourites" and given it 5 stars, so erm it was good. Ok that was understatement, I really really enjoyed this. Astonishingly I have never read this before, nor do I remember the Suchet TV version, so it was a great experience to read a Poirot not knowing the answers.
As always with Christie the characterisation was fantastic. I find it very difficult to believe this was only the 2nd Poirot book as it was so "mature". Poirot was excellent and th ...more

I avoided "Murder on the Links" for a long time simply because I assumed it had to do with golf. Silly me. Of course, a body is indeed discovered on a golf course in France, but beyond that, golf is irrelevant. As though I needed reminding that Christie is sly, after finishing the book, I realize "Links" had a far more important meaning.

Hmmm. I must say, this has, so far, been my least favourite of Agatha Christie's novels. I found the plot had too many coincidences and, frankly, by the end it felt confusing. I didn't feel it had the neat, tidiness I have come to expect from Agatha Christie. ...more
