This mystery sees Miss Marple relocated from her usual setting, of villages and vicarages, and deposited on a Caribbean holiday by nephew Raymond. The preceding winter had seen Miss Marple suffering from pneumonia and, with sunshine advised to aid her recovery, she is treated to a stay at the Golden Palm Hotel in St Honore, Trinidad. The hotel has been taking over by a young couple, Molly and Tim Kendal, who are keen to keep returning guests happy and ‘make a go’ of it.

Among the guests are the

This is one of the last few mysteries featuring Miss Marple. In A Caribbean Mystery, the elderly lady finds murder and mystery in the, wait for it, Caribbean Islands! Good old nephew Raymond has paid for a trip to the holiday destination for his aunt and expects her to keep out of mischief. But Raymond should have known better.

In conversation with an old retired major, Miss Marple first comes across talk of a murder. Like the rest of the guests, she has already written off the major as a bore a

A Caribbean Mystery by Agatha Christie.

Miss Marple is recuperating from pneumonia in the West Indies. Among those touring on this excursion is Mr. Rafiel, who although an invalid has no difficulty in expressing his thoughts in a resounding manner. It appears that Mr. Rafiel has developed a respectful attitude towards Miss Marple especially regarding her skills of deduction when an occasion arises. And an occasion has certainly arisen with the death of Major Palgrave.

This is one of my favorite Mi

Jane Marple is on holiday in the Caribbean paid for by her nephew Raymond West. She loves the weather and it is working wonders with her rheumatism but she is just a little bored. Nothing much happens in paradise but her curiosity is piqued when Major Palgrave, who is telling her a story about a murderer, suddenly puts the photograph away that he was going to show her and looks as though he's seen a ghost. The next day he is dead and Miss Marple is in her element as she recognises the types of p ...more

3.5* if I could. Very readable and lots of Miss M, slightly spoiled by some cringe stuck-in-its-time moments.

Miss Marple is in West Indies for a vacation where she almost gets to see a snapshot of murderer he took years ago shown to her by a colonel. He himself is found dead not long after their encounter. This novel engages you to keep turning pages until you figure out who it is that has committed this unspeakable crime & what’s the motive. It is definitely a good read! :)

Another fun read by Dame Christie. Miss Marple is sent to the Caribbean by her nephew for a vacation. She doesn't quite know what to do with herself until a murder is committed.

In this story it was fun to see Miss Marple in the thick of things instead of solving the mystery as a bystander. Lots of interesting suspects.

This one certainly had me guessing. Was good to see that Miss Marple can function just as well, outside her normal surroundings. Is good to see that although her body is old and frail, her mind is as active as ever. Gives us all hope!
