The Tuesday Club Murders was underwhelming. When it comes to Agatha Christie I just expect a little something more from her writing. This collection of short stories chronologically falls very, very early in the Miss Marple series and you can definitely tell that Christie is still trying to find just what Miss Marple is creatively.

Six people meet for dinner once weekly on Tuesdays, and after dinner sit by the fire (at first in Miss Jane's cottage and later at Colonel and Mrs. Bantry's home), to discuss unsolved mysteries, with one of the group telling a puzzling story they know and asking the others to solve it. A classic style of story, nicely done here by Christie. Three-and-one-half stars
