It did end in an odd place in the storyline of the Poldark saga. If I had not seen the series this may have bothered me somewhat, but I know what happens next, so I'm not anticipating the next book as much.

I still love the story, and am still intrigued by what the current series has changed from the novels. Some characters in the novel have more depth, while others in the novel are a little less lovable than in the television series.

I found the second book a bit more engaging. A nice easy read for the end of summer.

Love the Poldark series, this is the meat of the story, with the marriage and birth of Julia. Excellent book and series.
