Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) in The Mortal Instruments Series LOVERS! :P

I loved this book!
This is the first Shadow World book I have read and Cassandra Clare is a pretty good writer.

I really liked the starting of the book. The Dark Sisters were hilarious, if not terrifying. And I like the protagonist Tessa Gray. It was a bit sad getting her see tortured like that, but at least they successfully uncovered her talent.

The plot was good and kept me hooked. I finished the book in two sittings. I liked the action and twist was good. I admit I didn't see it coming. I was c I loved this book!

Now the characters- any story is made by its characters, not just its plot. Cassandra's characters have depth and she has formed them well. She knows what she wants out of them. Although, I am conflicted about Tessa, I really loved Will, Charlotte, Henry, Sophie, Jem and even Jessamine. I know everyone hates her, but I rather enjoy characters like her.

If I had to choose favourites, I would go for Will. I just can't get enough of him. He's the perfect bad boy with the capacity to have an all-consuming love. Yes, it's rather sad and heartbreaking as to just how much he has the capacity to love. Most of the book, I could feel that Tessa loves him too. Since I have read Clockwork Prince also, I know why he did what he did to her on the roof.

But I admit, reading the first novel got me invested in Jem more than I hoped for. The Blackfriars Bridge chapter stood out almost as much as Will and Tessa moments. Cassandra wrote great scenes for both Tessa-Jem and Tessa-Will.

Enough of the romance. I loved the clockwork army idea. Sounds rather impossible because those creatures are something we would call 'Robots' in today's world. But then these creatures are run by magic. That's the only difference. And Magnus Bane- oh my! His part wasn't that big but he sounds amazing. I know he's a major character in MI so I can't wait to read that! =)

If not anything, these books are worth reading for all the magic, Shadow Hunters and Will Herondale. These things would be enough for anyone to keep them entertained. ...more

This book was so damn FANTASTIC!
I just want to live in Cassandra Clare's beautiful world!

Loved this book, takes place in the Victorian era. Had all sorts of genres involved in this story, of course, this is the first book in the trilogy and had to download the 2nd Clockwork Prince as soon as I was finished with this one. Big bummer is that 3rd book not due out till this fall, will have to re-read the first 2 in order to read the 3rd.
