Wow, seriously? I'm kind of thinking every book is going to leave me...upset, to put it nicely, about Jace and Clary's relationship; however, I enjoyed reading it up until the very end. Actually, the whole book is great, and whoever gave up on the series after the first book is missing out. I never really cared much for Simon. In fact, you could say I severely disliked him, but now I've come to not like him, but accept him.

Any other book would be fine but this one has a major twist that keeps twisting until it has been bent almost in two.

He has summoned a powerful demon that kills by showing it's prey it's worst fear. Jace finds out the truth on what his father plans to do and why is is killing Fae, wolf, and vampire beings. The strangest thing about the killings is that everyone was drained of blood. Valentine is interrupted when he tries to get a young's wolf's blood and ends up killing cold.
Can Clary and Jace find happiness or will their father get the best of them? and not to mention one ot their worst problems is that the world now has a vampire who can walk in the sun where others can't. Simon is now the most hated and envied vampire in their world. Clary is crumbling with not knowing what to do between her mother and Jace. Jace doesn't know which side to choose. Simon is in trouble. Alec tries to deny is attraction to Magnus. Magnus tries to give Alec some space. The end does not end well for anyone. Jace is framed for being a traitor for contacting his father. What else could be worse.
Clary tells Jace that she just wants to be friends and nothing more than brother and sister and leaves him with her heart shattered and in millions of pieces. Can they find love in this chaos and confusion? ...more

The only thing I hated about this book was finishing the last page and knowing that I had months and months to wait for the third. It was just as good as the first and left me wanting the third more than anything. I had trouble moving on to another book after this one. Not exactly a cliffhanger, but left me needing to open the cover of City of Glass!! Trying to patiently wait till the end of March.

this book was AWESOME though not as good as the first. some parts were really frustrating like jace and clary and what happens between them. but i really think clary's talent is totally awesome! i cant believe what happens to simon...its almost too hard to believe. after that, i dont think of simon the way i used too. i dont think of him as such a dork now. i love this book! ...more

This book is great - it made me laugh a lot. Clare does an excellent job of incorporating unforgettable sarcasm and heavy emotion into the entire series. A must read for any one who enjoys fantasy and a good laugh.

I fell in love with this series by the second chapter of the first book. It is never dull or boring and it never lets your mind wonder. It will have your attention from the very beginning.
