I don't know where to begin, other than: Why did I put this off for so long? Oh, I know why, because of that ending. That last novella, one of the most gut-wrenching and heart breaking thing I've ever read. Just that last novella took me a good hour to read because I couldn't stop crying towards the end. I really like prequels and was so excited to get a glimpse at the “old” Celaena. I’ve always wanted see Celaena before the betrayal and her time in the salt mines. When we meet Celeana in Throne of Glass, she is almost a shadow of who she used to be. She’s not the cutthroat assassin she was. I was so thrilled to read this book to see what Celaena, “Adarlan’s Assassin” was like before all of the horrible things she went through.

Back in April when the title of the final Throne of Glass book was released (hey there, Kingdom of Ash!) I decided I better kick myself into gear and finally get around to reading the books in the series I had been avoiding- The Assassin's Blade (because I'm not a huge novellas person) and Tower of Dawn (because I am definitely not a Chaol person).
