What Members Thought

This book is aptly named. "A Games of Thrones" is a political drama with a soap opera flow. As with most fantasy, there is great tradegy, warfare, backstabbing, innocence lost, an endless list of characters, and heros made. What I found unique about this book is that I did not actually like any character as a person but I quickly became invested in their welfare. I cared about what happened to them even through a part of me cheered because everyone seemed to get what they deserved in the end. I

Wow... wow. That's really all there is to say about this book. I heard about it first when my dad mentioned that one of my favorite actors - Sean Bean! What a guy! - was starring in a new HBO TV series. According to my principles, though, I had to read the book before I watched it - and I was pretty eager to watch it!

Fantastic - sweeping, epic of a novel. Told from many points of view and doesn't follow the standard formula. Can't wait to read the rest in this series.

Things were very difficult whenever you play the game of thrones.

This was a great book. I can't wait to read the rest. My favorite chapters had to be Jon's, Eddard's, and Sansa and Tyrion's (His Smartassness always managed to make me laugh). My least favorites were definitely Cateltn's and Dany's.

I've done a halfway point review to see how much it differs from now until the end of the book.

Absolutely incredible! This book changed my life. If you are a fan of Tyrion Lannister, you will enjoy his time in power, while in King's Landing.
