I read ten pages in October and forgot and then started over. I enjoyed the book and now I want to read The Odyssey? What a feat.

4.5 - the pace is slow but the prose and imagery is beautiful. I was a fan of Greek mythology as a teen and this brought back the memories! I thoroughly enjoyed the imaginative backstory of Circe! I actually liked this better than her first novel.

Circe takes you on this journey where you really do understand where she is coming from and how she changes and develops with every decision she makes. Among the easiest five-star ratings I’ve ever given a book. A delectable page-turner, you are coming for the soap opera squabbles amongst divinities and the heroes and the monsters and the vapid nymphs and the heart-warmth that comes from watching someone down-trodden as they locate their strengths. You are staying for the porcine transfigurations and the shit-talking.
