So Moby Dick the great white whale.... I recognize why it's a classic. Sure this novel covers obsession. Where Captain Ahab projects the loss of his leg, the foundation of himself as a man, to the ever consuming whale. Sure it covers how the wild forest maybe conquered but the ocean is primordial and cannot be chopped, utilized, or changed by human hands. So we, as human beings, seek dominion over these animals/creatures of the sea as it's the only tangible part of the ever dark encroaching part
