Similar to the Hunger Games in that the dystopian world is fascinating but, unlike many other works in the genre, the author doesn't stop there - he backs it up with a terrific plot and three-dimensional characters. I greatly enjoyed gobbling the whole thing up.

I love, love, love the concept of this series. And it was off to a fantastic start. But the writing was a little rough and could have used some editing. Some of the plot points fall short if you really think about them, but no bad enough I wasn't able to suspend disbelief. The insta-love drove me nuts, I understand it's an allusion to Romeo and Juliet, but I still found it grating.
