Ghost Bride is the story of Li Lan, a young woman from Colonial Malacca (modern day Malaysia), who feels pressure to become a ghost bride to the deceased son of a wealthy family in order to settle her family's debts. As the dead young man starts invading her dreams, she ventures into the Plains of the Dead in her coma-induced, half-dead state to uncover the afterlife politicking which which her deceased suitor is involved.
