I feel that the writing style of this novel has worked its way under my skin and into my psyche, in a smart parallel to the content of the story. There's not much to be said directly about the plot or characters. It is something that isn't really explainable, which I kind of love. Such a frustrating book to read. I forced myself to finish it because I was on vacation pretty far from the nearest internet connection or book store and because it was so short, but I did not enjoy this book at all. Annihilation is written in a very vague manner, you are never given the names of the characters, you are never told the details about how the world ended up in the state that it is in, and it is written this way on purpose.
