So overall I thought this was a good book. Easy to read, created a main character you really cared about, and you really wanted to know what happened to her. In spite of this being a rather short book, though, I thought there were too few "hints" at first about what had happened, and then all of a sudden you just hear the whole story. I appreciate that she was trying to create something that would help teens and was relatable to a wide audience to spark discussion and awareness, and I'm not sure

I can't believe it took me so long to actually pick this book up and finally read it. I used to see this book all the time when borders was still around. Well I'm happy to say that it was a good book.
It was a fast read for sure only having less than 200 pages.
What this book captures the most perfectly is Meleanie outlook of high school and the world. It's funny and sad at the same time but true.
I hope that teens and preteens should read this book and understand the issues that it raises.

I really connected with the character of Melinda, which was pivotal to how impactful the story was. Some readers had a hard time with the ending and thought it was too tidy and wrapped up. I thought it was well-done and that it was made clear that Melinda wasn't ever going to be done dealing with what had happened to her, she had just come to a place where she found her voice.

Much too over-the-top prose for my taste. Some of the descriptions were cloying.
