Still wonderful after all these years. The melancholy of the Time Traveler, the will to believe of the narrator, the vividly described future world and its sights, all hold up very well. And towards the end, what have to have been the inspiration for Stephen King's Lobstrosities! I half expected them to ask, da-da-chuck?

This is a cool book, I really think the idea behind it is very interesting. What will happen to the world when humanity completely bans out all evil things - if there is nothing to fight anymore: people will get dumb, because it is the fight against nature that makes humanity intelligent, it is the challenge that makes us better. And if the challenge falls away, we are simply dumb and happy blobs that like flowers.
This was a really great read. Short, too. I love time travelling, end-of-the-world type books, so if you do too; try this one. I don't know that I would read it again (at least in the next 10 years or so) it just didn't lend its self to me as something I wanted to read again, although I liked it enough.
