I came to this book because, after reading my final project for my creative writing class, my professor thought I would like it. I don't read a ton of contemporary literary fiction, but I feel I learned a lot from it. Ben gives us a skillful blend of fact and fiction, while balancing a life of literary success, a potentially fatal heart condition, and the possibility of fatherhood.
