4.5 stars. No surprise that this won the Newbery and it’s one of those that the afterword at the back of the book by the author bumped it up to 4.5 stars instead of 4. This was such a fun listen and has been on my list for quite some time so I’m glad I finally read it! I honestly think I could listen to this again and again and probably find more to enjoy about it each time.
3.5 stars for this one. Probably a 4 for kids. I thought the idea was creative and fun. The sass the characters had was OFF THE CHARTS. A lot of the plot was unbelievable, but that is fine for a kids story. I didn't love the narration by Ms Basil- it was kind of weird. I also thought the characters didn't act their age. And some parts were dated, like saying that the museum wouldn't have any women moving a statue. That one legitimately confused me for a minute before I remembered arbitrary sexis
