I wish I'd read this book when I was in my teens or, even better, in my early 20s while at Uni and starting to study English. The amount of theoretical postulating that goes into the explanation for the Snow Crash drug/virus works would have blown my mind back then. The premise was so interesting, but this book was not for me. The characters were so flat. It seems that was intentional - the protagonist's name was literally Hiro Protagonist, so of course he's just a stand-in character. Regardless, it didn't work for me. This book was a slog to get through.

Lots of interesting ideas in this book but the plot jumps all over the place and requires the narrator to explain explicitly what's happened. Felt more like an action movie than anything else at times (in a bad way)
