Derry is preyed upon by an evil as f*** clown (view spoiler) with a appetite for children. A group of children band together to fight this horrible creature. 27 years later unsure if It has returned the gang groups up again.
One of my favorite! This is my 3rd reread, also my first King novel, and the book that started my love of King's writing. I read this one at the age of 12. When I read It I could relate to the characters on many different levels.

I first read this book when I was 16 and, for whatever reason, could only get one book from the library (I assume I'd racked up some massive fines, as I'm notoriously bad at giving books back, and my parents let me check out one novel on one of their cards. Naturally, I went for the fattest one.) It was the first Stephen King book, with the exception of On Writing and The Eyes of the Dragon, that I was allowed to read, and I definitely had nightmares while reading it.
