Finally finished this, took me a little while because I've been busy with Harry Potter.
I really enjoyed -- is that the right word? it wasn't an "enjoy" kind of book generally, but I'll go with it -- Catch-22. It's a gritty book. It takes you through a fictional bomber's experiences in World War 2 as he experiences the comical absurdities and, more realistically, gritty bloodiness of war.

I get what this book is doing, but the execution just doesn't work for me. The prose is a little too scattered/circular/absurd for my enjoyment.
