I listened to this on audio and I loved it! I can't say anything about the plot because I don't want to ruin the excitement of listening, but man, was this enjoyable. The story is intense and funny, a nail biter that still manages to be heartwarming. It surpassed any expectations I had.

Science fiction heavy on the science. The Martian starts with astronaut Mark Watney left for dead on Mars. Weir's handling of the science was impressive to say the least. In a story that has a human on Mars having to solve problem after problem to keep alive for hundreds of sols (Martian days), the most unbelievable part was how cooperative NASA was with the media.
